Having grown up in Augsberg Germany, Sturm made the decision to come to North America to play in Corpus Christi and Austin of the NAHL then Tri-City of the USHL. A late bloomer with size, skill and great work ethic, Sturm’s career took off at Clarkson University where he was a two time All American. A NHL unrestricted free agent, Sturm had offers from numerous organizations, choosing to sign with the Minnesota Wild on April 1, 2019 making his NHL debut on April 4, 2019.
